A 17th-century castle on an idyllic island in Northern Ireland’s Fermanagh Lakelands, Belle Isle is an enchanted setting for civil wedding ceremonies and receptions. The castle itself is the embodiment of romantic, olde-world charm, while the estate’s 470 acres of rolling hills, flowering meadows, tranquil gardens, and views of Lough Erne form a magical backdrop for photographs and memories.
The experienced team at Belle Isle will do their very best to accommodate you through the planning process of your special day, with an offer of an exclusive wedding package for you to choose from, to make your big day go off without a hitch. They will be happy to handle every detail to create your perfect day, from the first notes of the wedding processional to the last sips of Champagne.
ACCOMMODATION
Belle Isle Castle can accommodate up to 27 guests in 13 luxurious, individually decorated bedrooms, seven of which are en-suite. These are the perfect suites to keep both your families, bridesmaids and groomsmen in for the duration of your stay.
Additional guests may stay on the property in the award-winning courtyard apartments, the coach house, as well as in one of the delightful cottages. The whole estate can accommodate up to 65 overnight guests.

With first-class accommodation in a magical island setting, a state-of-the-art cookery school and abundant recreational opportunities, Belle Isle offers an array of activities to reward and stimulate any team.
TEAM BUILDING
The kitchen is a great leveller. The Belle Isle Cookery School is an ideal site for teambuilding programmes because it puts managers and staff together in a totally different environment, one that fosters positive communication skills and teamwork.
This one-day event includes instruction, ingredients, lunch with wine, wine tasting, and a recipe folder with menus and instructions.
HELL’S KITCHEN
The Belle Isle Cookery School opened its doors in 2004 on the magnificent Belle Isle Estate on Lough Erne in County Fermanagh. This purpose-built state-of-the-art cookery school is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland.
Re-create Gordon Ramsay’s hit show to really put staff through their paces. The team can promise an experience to remember that’s fun, challenging, and enjoyably competitive.

Belle Isle's History
Belle Isle has been inhabited since the 12th century. Originally called Ballymacmanus, it was home the MacManus and Maguire families, including one of the compilers of the Annals of Ulster, Cathal Og Mac Manus. The Annals are now in the Bodleian Library in Oxford and Trinity Library in Dublin. In the early 17th century, an eminent soldier, Paul Gore, came into possession of Belle Isle. His descendant, Sir Ralph Gore, built the first house on the island. His grandson, who was born at Belle Isle Castle in 1725, and was also named Sir Ralph Gore, extended the house and created a magnificent garden that reached to the lough shore. Sir Ralph was created Earl of Ross in 1772. He died in 1801, leaving Belle Isle to his only surviving child, Mary. She married an Englishman, Richard Hardinge, who sold Belle Isle in 1830 to Rev. John Porter for £68,000. The Porters expanded the castle and added the tower. The coach house was built in 1856, along with the estate offices and farmyard. Porter's grandson expanded the castle again in 1910, adding the gallery, more bedrooms, and the porch. In 1991, the Duke of Abercorn bought Belle Isle Estate from Miss Lavinia Baird, the last member of the Porter family.
RECENT YEARS
In 1992, the bridge house was the first cottage to be converted to a holiday house. The conversion of the Hamilton Wing, which is now used to host up to 14 guests, was completed the following year. The coach house was converted in 1996 and the courtyard in 1998. The Duke bought the estate for his second son, Nicholas Hamilton, an artist in New York. Nicholas married Tatiana Kronberg, also an artist, on 30 August 2009. Nicholas and Tatiana are involved in the estate's operations. Day-to-day management is carried out by Charles Plunket, who has been at Belle Isle for 16 years, and assisted by Andrea McIlveen, a longtime employee.PRICING RATES

How to reach Belle Isle
The main island is host to Belle Isle Castle, the apartments, the cottages and the cookery school. Its 435 acres vary between natural woodland, working farmland and spaces reserved for nature. Belle Isle has been designated a Special Area of Conservation and, as stewards of this special land, the staff take great pride and care in its environmental upkeep. 'The Annals of Ulster', an ancient chronicle of Medieval Ireland, was compiled on Belle Isle between AD 431 to AD 1489. County Fermanagh offers a wealth of things to do and see, including some of Ireland's finest natural wonders. Lough Erne is home to recreational and competitive water sports, from canoeing to water skiing. Visit the world famous Marble Arch Cave Geopark or the three National Trust properties.
