Immaculately-lawned gardens lead to this handsome property which is complimented by two impressive yew trees which stand either side of the house, like two overfed sentry guards. Climbing plants cling to the facade, weaving their way between the large sash windows, and a wooden porch way offers shelter when arriving home on wild, wintery nights.

The jaw-dropping exterior of this listed 16th Century building, is more than equally matched by the luxurious interior. This property boasts boundless character and atmosphere, yet comfort and convenience is never compromised. Step into the beautiful entrance hall which is beautifully decorated and furnished with antique pieces. A grand staircase leads upstairs past a stunning arch shaped window which floods the room with light.

The inside of the house

There are five bedrooms, all equally romantic and stylish. Some boast four poster beds and in-room, free-standing bathtubs. Original features, as throughout the house, are enhanced by antique furnishings and traditional fabrics – heavy curtains pull back to reveal lovely views from all the windows. Also, for larger groups, Eye Hall can be rented along with Cambridge Country Cottages, meaning the estate can cater for up to 14 guests.

There is a large drawing room with comfy sofas and armchairs, pretty views and an open fire place which promises relaxing evenings sipping wine and catching up with friends. Guests can also enjoy the cosy snug, which offers a lovely spot to relax in front of the fire after a day exploring the surrounding countryside.

Informal breakfasts can be enjoyed in the kitchen’s dining area underneath the wooden beams beside the large Inglenook fireplace. The kitchen is wonderfully well-equipped with all that guests require to create lovely dinners, with as little hassle as possible. It is a traditional country kitchen with pale blue units, a range oven and large dresser. Alternatively, visitors can enjoy more formal meals in the dining room and then head into the games room for a post-dinner game of pool.

Guests can also make use of the wonderful food on offer at Cambridge Country Dining. Set in the idyllic gardens of Eye Hall, the listed rare bronzed greenhouse is the ideal place for a cosy, unique dining experience with your loved one. The warm, candle lit greenhouse sets the scene for a wonderful meal with friends, family or colleagues. They offer delicious wines, and incredible food, and they’re able to cater for different dietary requirements.

Outdoors

Animal lovers will be delighted to know that the paddock is home to cattle, sheep, and horses. And come morning why not go for a lovely stroll and collect your fresh eggs for breakfast straight from the chicken coup?

Eye Hall is fantastically situated in the heart of the countryside, yet is just three miles from the historic city of Cambridge and a short drive to the coast. The local pub is within walking distance of the property and there are many other traditional country pubs in the area. For something a bit different, head into Cambridge which has everything from chain restaurants to fine dining.
