Owned by the Cunliffe-Lister family since the 1880s, and the ancestral seat of the Earl of Swinton, guests at the hotel enjoy an authentic stately home experience that combines the traditional warmth of a family home with all the modern creature comforts of a contemporary hotel.
Each of the hotel’s 32 spacious bedrooms is individually designed, with a choice of views across the gardens, lake or parkland.
Food also plays a prominent role at the hotel – from the commitment to minimising food miles and the four acre kitchen garden, to the award-winning restaurant and cookery school.

A wide range of function rooms for a ceremony, wedding breakfast or celebration are available, enabling the castle to accommodate your every need, from a small intimate affair to something on a much grander scale.
Weddings at Swinton Park can be booked as a non-exclusive event, using one or more of the visually stunning reception rooms, with accommodation taken as required, or as an exclusive use event, taking over the whole castle and all 32 bedrooms for your big day. The team at the castle are equipped to cater for everything, from intimate weddings for 2 right up to the most grand affairs with a maximum of 250 attendees (through use of a marquee in the grounds).

The castle’s award-winning modern British cuisine places an emphasis on seasonal fresh produce sourced from the surrounding family estate and the hotel’s walled garden. The array of menus offer an extensive range of dishes, which are complemented by a carefully selected wine list, that will help make your wedding breakfast truly unforgettable.
SPA
Combining the authentic natural elements of the Yorkshire Dales’ countryside with contemporary design and sophistication, the Swinton Country Club & Spa offers a unique wellbeing experience.
As a hotel guest, you have use of the Country Club and Spa facilities from 3pm on the day of your arrival to 11am on the day of departure. The spacious and light spa facility instils calm relaxation from the moment you arrive. There is an 18-metre indoor swimming pool and a hydrotherapy pool, whilst outdoors on the pool terrace there is a cedar hot tub and a 10-metre natural pool. Children can use the pool from 9:30am – 10am and 4:30pm – 5:30pm, with adult supervision.
Spa heat rooms include an aroma steam room which features seasonal natural fragrance in 100% humidity for deep muscular relaxation; a salt steam room to ease breathing congestion and enhance the immune system and a Finnish sauna which provides dry heat in a fragrant wood cabin. There are showers and foot spas to help you regulate your temperature as you start and finish your thermal journey, with loungers poolside and outdoors on the terrace for relaxation.
Tucked away in the corner of the pool garden, we also have an alfresco sauna where you can hide away with a few friends around the fire pit and heat up in the herbal sauna featuring herbs from the garden. Fitness and wellbeing activities are on-going and take place in the gym, the group exercise studio and in the Swinton parkland.
Indulge in a treatment from trusted spa brands Elemis or Bamford with one of Swinton’s spa treatment experts. Post treatment, downtime can be spent in the light and airy relaxation room, with slumber pods nearby for quiet time and cosy conversations. For those wanting to switch off completely, sanctuary can be found in the sleep room with heated water beds for complete sense of peace.
