Villa Michaela is a very large, early 19th century listed building in the hills south of Lucca that has been restored and modernised to an exceptionally high standard. The house enjoys privacy and seclusion as it is surrounded by 50 acres of private grounds, pine forests, olive groves and extensive gardens with views to the Apennines. The villa, designed by the famous Luccan architect Nottolini, even has its own consecrated chapel. Inside the villa, spacious frescoed rooms of modest elegance provide space for relaxing and entertaining, and a Bechstein piano adds a special touch.

Vorno, south of Lucca. Situated 30 minutes drive from Pisa airport, 35 minutes from Forte dei Marmi on the coast, and 50 minutes from the heart of Florence, the villa offers a unique combination of easy international access, country atmosphere and proximity to the historical and cultural delights of Tuscany.
The main villa has six bedrooms, and the annexe two bedrooms. The principal bedrooms all have superior quality, six-foot-wide double beds, en suite bath or shower rooms, and most are air-conditioned and double-glazed. The coach house is independent of the main villa, with three double bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms, and open-plan living room and kitchen.
A full-time chef and house staff take care of meals. In the summer, dine under the stars by the pool under the wisteria.
There is a floodlit Astroturf tennis court, a pool table, heated swimming pool, you can play table tennis, go jogging, bicycling or play golf nearby. The beautiful walled city of Lucca with its excellent shopping and restaurants is barely ten minutes drive from the villa. Other notable attractions – Pistoia, Bagni di Lucca, Barga, the Garfagnana, San Gimignano and Siena – are all within an hour’s drive.

Best time to travel
Italy is a year round destination. Especially Tuscany is at its best in spring (April-May) and autumn (October-November). During these seasons, the scenery is beautiful, the temperatures are pleasant and there are fewer crowds.
