Surrounded by the sparkling blue Caribbean sea of the British Virgin Islands, Necker Island exudes the elegance and lifestyle of the rich and famous. You can “rent” the whole island for yourself and your guests, staying in the Balinese style houses with your own pool and never-ending views to the sea. Virgin Atlantic owner Richard Branson purchased this previously uninhabited island between Tortola and Anegada in the late seventies. He has slowly developed several residences in addition to the main house, an airy Balinese Villa. A favourite with royalty, rock stars, and movie stars, Necker Island is the ultimate private getaway in the Caribbean.
We are delighted to announce that Necker Island will reopen in October 2018 following the devastating effects of the 2017 hurricane season.
The newly restored Great House will be first to welcome guests, with further accommodation to reopen in 2019.

There are also horse riding facilities on Tortola and Virgin Gorda. The coastline of Anegada is a popular diving site due to its own reefs and shipwrecks. And it is said that Norman Island was the original setting for Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. There are quaint shops on Main Street in Road Town and almost everywhere, you will find a quiet bar for a refreshing tropical drink.
Bali Leha – The Necker Island Spa
Leha Leha is the Balinese way of descrining peace, relaxation and daydreaming, and there is no better place to do this than at the Necker Island Spa. Bali Leha is built into a cliff overlooking the sea and whilst being pampered by our fabulous range of treatments you will be able to enjoy beautiful ocean views and drift away to the gentle sounds of the sea. Using Gerard’s skincare range which is exclusive to Necker Island, the treatments follow a natural, holistic and Ayurvedic approach that enhances emotion and well-being from within. The traditional Balinese treatments offered are designed to complement the Spa’s surroundings. Many treatments can also be taken in a room or on the beach. These are not included in the normal rates and a treatment list is available on request. Whilst staying at Neckar Island, there is also the possibility to hire Necker Nymph, which is a 3-person aero-submarine.

When Hurricane Irma struck in September 2017, we were hugely relieved that all members of our team on-island were unharmed but many of the buildings were badly damaged. The restoration work is well underway and we will welcome back our first guests to a newly restored Great House in October 2018, with further accommodation to reopen in 2019.
